Walsall completed the signing of Gambian International, Edrissa 'Eddy' Sonko on a one-year deal on July 27, 2007 following a successful trial spell.

The 27 year-old started his career with top Belgian outfit, Anderlecht, for whom he made a handful of appearances before landing a big-money move to Roda JC in the Dutch top-flight.

He became a popular figure during his seven years with Roda as he made 132 League appearances.

Linking up with Xanthi Skoda in January 2007, where he had ten outings before realising his ambition to play in England with a move to the Banks's Stadium.

Capped at International level by Gambia, he is an attack-minded midfield man who is comfortable on both the left and right-hand side.
