Students of the Gambia College have decided to amalgamate the  four Student Unions operating within the college,  at a two-day congress held at the college's premises.

The four Stduents Unions were School of Education, School of Public Health, School of Nursing and School of  Agriculture.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Registrar of  Gambia College, Demba Ceesay urged the students to re-unite in the interest of development as it  will make it easy for them to contribute to development.

He added that the harmonisation of the four schools will help the students to challenge any arising problem(s)  and then advised them to put in place  tangible resolutions, in order to sustain union.

Masanneh J Ceesay,  Chairperson of the Amalgamation Committee, promised that they will do their best to  make the initiative a reality, describing unity as the bedrock for success.

Ebrima Sanneh, the Chairperson of the National Union of Gambian Students (NUGs) commended students for the initiative which, according to him, will go a long way  towards solving some of their problems.

The ceremony was attended by students from the University of the Gambia Students Union,  and other tertiary institutions.
