Monday, November 12, 2007

The Gambia Women Finance Association (GAWFA), has filed a law suit against one Fatou Demba and Kebba Joof, 1st and 2nd  defendants, respectively, claiming D55,671, being the sum owed to the association.

According to the particulars of the case, the first defendant, who was identified as an Immigration officer, took the money from GAWFA through the second defendant (a mechanic), who wilfully acted as the guarantor to obtain the said money.

However, the company made several demands for the repayment of the said money  to no avail.

However, both defendants were absent, when the case was called before Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, on Friday.
The case was then adjourned to November 21, for continuation.
