Friday, November 02, 2007

The Gambia Football Association will embark on an intensive scouting spree for a formation of a formidable under 17 team, the newly released programme of activities of the Gambia Football Association has revealed.

The scouting spree which is scheduled between December 15 to December 22, 2007, would be conducted nation-wide, in a bid to tap talents from the breadth and length of the country.

Since their elimination from the 2007 Togo U-17 finals qualifiers, The Gambia is yet to present a permanent Under 17 team.

A temporal Under 17 team was, in August 2007, put in place to take part in a four-nation tournament in Abijan, Ivory Coast, and the West African nation that is widely known for her heroism in youth football, eventually prevailed champions.
