Sports journalists disagree

africa » gambia
Wednesday, December 05, 2007
The members of the Gambia Sports Journalist Association remain divided well after what many described as a bogus triennial congress held in September 2007.

Some members of the association have since declared the congress 'null and void' since it was prematurely staged to suit a selfish agenda in the absence of some key members.

And with some members of the association planning a sports award ceremony to decorate Gambian sports elites, many have disassociated themselves from the ceremony citing lack of unity and competence.

Such members have also warned that the outcome of the award ceremony will not represent the views of the Gambian sports journalists, but just a few members.
