In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful-Rajab Cont'dMonday, September 10, 2007 Our discussion continues on Rajab. Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) encountered hardship within his followers when he was spreading the message. Most of the hardship came from his family, especially from Abi Lahab. The cause of this was because Prophet Mohammad called them to follow the Almighty. Allah advised the Prophet in the Quran to exercise patience no matter how hard because his predecessors encounter more hardship than he does.
Suran Baqara V.214 states; "Or do ye think that ye shall enter The Garden (of Bliss) without such trials. As came to those who passed away before you? The encounter suffering and adversity. And were so shaken in spirit that even the messenger. And those of faith who were with him Cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah" Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!"
Sura Hijri is one of them V.97-99: "Celebrate the praises of thy Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. And serve thy Lord until here come unto thee the hour that is certain." Sura Nahl also advises him to be patient. V.127-128 "And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but with the help from Allah, nor grieve over them; and distress not thyself because of their plots. For Allah is with those who restrain themselves and those who do good."
Isra wal Mihraj should not only be seen as a journey to the Almighty but we should emulate the prophet. The celebration should not only be done by singing, eating and drinking for the whole night. All the five prophets listed (Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus) were praised and chosen by Allah because of the hardship they encountered just like prophet Mohammad and did a perfect job for the Almighty. Prophet Mohammad called all creatures to worship Allah, and only Him who is the most High. To also concentrate on what is allowed by Allah and leaves that which is illegal.
