2008 NAYCONF flag goes to WR

The ongoing nationwide relay of the flag of the eight edition of the biennial National Youth Conference and Festival (Nayconf) was on Tuesday handed to the governor of the Western Region.

The flag, which is an official symbol of NAYCONF, bears the theme of the 2008 youth gathering which will be hosted by Farafenni, NBR from the 16 to 24 December 2008. It also contains the logo that represents the young people of the country.

Governor Sanneh of the Western Region received the flag from Mayor Yankuba Colley of the Kanifing Municipal Council at Abuko. In handing over the flag, both Governor Sanneh and Mayor Colley renewed their promises to work tirelessly for the development of Gambian youths.

The deputy governor of Western Region, Madam Sainabou Faal; Pa Malick Ceesay, executive secretary of The Gambia National Youth Council as well as youth representatives from the two regions attended the ceremony.

The flag will travel through other regions and will finally be handed over to the president of the republic during the official opening of the gathering in Farafenni.
