LOVELINES-My mother is against our relationship

Friday, January 11, 2008
Lovelines,

I have being a good, faithful and disciplined girl ever since I started dating (my first lover). We were married and happy together. Many a time we have talked about how to raise our family and live happily like it is told in fairy tales.

We respect our love. Sometimes he hurts me, but when we talk it over, surprisingly, he surprisingly apologizes to me. It is difficult for us to stay away from each other for an hour. It was love made in heaven until my mother went against me dating all because he is a foreigner.

After some turbulent treatments, I was told by my mother that I should stop seeing him. But we talked on phone. Later on, I gave him off to avoid heartache. However, we remained as good friends. Now he wants to exhume the buried love because he cannot let his eyes and mind go off me. He flirts around and calls me at odd hours when he is supposed to be in bed with his wife since he has married another woman.

I am not comfortable with his numerous calls.  His wife might get to know about it, but he does not care. Sincerely talking, since we broke I have not been able to find a lover like him.  All those that I came across are not as caring and lovely, as I want my lover to be. My main concern is my boss who has never given up since I was dating this ex lover of mine.

He loves me and wants to marry. He promises to wait and not to deflower me until our wedding day's night because I am still at home. What do I do now?

Kate

It is a pity that a man you loved so much who could have been your husband has turned out to be your boyfriend. Anyway, such is life. As a disciplined young lady of 21, since you are able to make up your mind after overcoming some turbulent times, from your mum's decision on your first lover who has got married to another person let bygones be a bygones. Pick up your life and face the future.

If you do not forget about him, you will not be able to forge ahead when it comes to love and choice. So if really your boss who has been chasing you with his love for the past years really loves you, and you have feelings for him, why don't you give him a chance to prove the love he has for you. But you need to read one of the Lovelines editions that talked about 'Pros and Cons of office romance.' So follow your heart wherever it takes you. Good luck!
