Pirang Ward 'councillor' speaks

Monday, January 14, 2008
Omar Sowe, the unopposed APRC candidate  for Pirang Ward in the Kombo East District  for the upcoming local government election, has spoken of his desire to fulfill the  trust and confidence bestowed in him by the people of his ward and the APRC  party.

Sowe was speaking  in  an interview  with this reporter during a visit to  the Observer offices yesterday.  According to him, he intends to lobby for projects that are  sustainable  to the livelihood of his people.

These, he said, will include  the rehabilitation of the road connecting most of the settlements within his ward to the main highway, up-grade the Pirang Market, complete the construction of Kuloro Market, revamp the Kuloro Skill Training Centre  and empower the women in horticultural gardening which will bring the much needed development in the area.

Organising  football tournaments and other sporting activities with the ultimate aim of fostering cordial relationship between the youths are also top on Sowe's agenda.

He urged voters in the wards that have candidates contesting against APRC candidates to throw their weight behind them. "This is because only the APRC is in position to bring more relationship to their doorsteps," he posited.
