A blessed nation with a blessed leader

africa » gambia
Wednesday, January 16, 2008
Editor,

The Gambia is blessed. I am not saying this to flatter my fellow citizens but I am only appreciating the level of leadership our country is endowed with. During my school days, one of my most respected teachers usually said:

"There are leaders and there are leaders".

In our world today, we stand as an exception to the political turmoil, carnage and chaos that seems to hamper many countries. This, however, is no co-incidence. We are blessed with a dedicated and visionary leadership that has dedicated its all to serving its people. Not all nations are blessed with such favors by nature.

Therefore, it is incumbent on all and sundry, who call this beautiful haven a home to render a helping hand to the government in its drive to promote the good of the nation. With this we could be assured of a better Gambia; a Gambia that will twinkle and shine in the eyes of all of humanity.
