WHAT'S ON - Jalex off to UK

The Gambia's ground-breaking Afro-Manding artist, Jalex aka "", on Tuesday, January 22, left Banjul for the United Kingdom following an invitation from his UK based manager Gary Jones.

The 2007 best Senegambia upcoming Artist award winner's trip is mainly to visit his manager, but will also accord him the opportunity to stage his first stage appearance.

Speaking to What's On shortly before his departure, Jalex described his trip as yet another milestone in the development of his music career.

The young Afro-manding sensation added that, this is an oppportunity that every artists looks forward to having. 

"Such an opportunity gives an artists the opportunity to showcase his or her natural talents as well as gaining faster international recognition.

According to him, even though his trip is entirely financed by his maneger, the Gambian community in UK who voted him as the 2007 best Senegambian artist requested him to perform for them.

"I will perform in the Gambia's Independence party in UK alongside well renowned Senegalese Mbalax aritist, Assan Ndiaye at the Vision Night Club, Kingsland Road, UK,"he said.

This spectacular Gambian event is expected to gather thousands of Gambians and non Gambians alike living in the UK. He expressed gratitude to his UK based manger, Gary Jones and all his fans who have been supporting him in recent years.
