The long awaited final of a football  tournament organised by the  Mbankam Sports Committee in Lower Niumi District, North Bank Region, is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, at the Mbankam village playground.

The coveted title will be contested for by two giants, Berending FC and Mbollet-Bah in a cracker dubbed the final of the year.

The two sides berthed a spot in the final after competing in a keenly-contested eight-team tournament.

Speaking to Observer Sports, Modou Lamin Jammeh, Chairman of Mbankam Sports Committee, revealed that a cash prize of D2000 and a giant trophy await the prospective winners, whilst the runners-up will bag  a cash prize of D1500.

He said Saturday's final will be graced by scores of dignitaries including Cherno Cham, National Assembly member for Lower Niumi constituency and Alhagi Tabora Manneh, the chief of the district.
