3 NAWEC staff charged

3 men, in the persons of Sheikh Jobe, Musa Sanneh and Hassum Jallow, were last Friday arraigned before Principal Magistrate Edrisa Mbai of the Banjul Magistrates Court, charge with stealing copper wires from NAWEC.

According to the facts, the 3 accused persons on the 5th of October, 2008, conspired to commit felony and also stole 35 metres of copper wire cables, valued at D2285, being the property of the National Water and Electricity Company.

They jointly pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate granted them D5000 court bail each and adjourned the case to 14th October, 2008, for continuation.
