Youth charged for obstructing police

One Alpha Omar Jallow was last Monday arraigned before Principal Magistrate Edrisa M'bai of the Banjul Magistrate Court charged with the unlawful obstruction of a police officer in the due execution of his duties, contrary to section 203 (b) of the Criminal Code Cap 10 Volume 3.

According to the facts of the case,  Alpha Omar Jallow, on the 9th of October 2008, obstructed a police officer in the  execution of his duties to effect an arrest.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge. The principal magistrate granted him  bail in the sum of D10,000 with  a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to October 29th.
