Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Alagie Ndow, a police witness in the manslaughter trial of one Sitapha Marra - aka 50 Cent, has told the Bundung Magistrates Court, presided over by Acting Principal Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, that Abdoullahi Ceesay died because of a tin of milk.

Alagie Ndow said on 28, December, 2007, he went to visit a friend, Pa Miyang. Pa Miyang, he said, was spreading a new carpet in his house. He added that he helped his friend to spread the carpet. According to him, they were sitting down when his nephew, Abdoullahi Ceesay, came in to take a tin of milk from under a chair and went out. Alagie said that Abdoullahi ran back to the house after a brief period of time.

According to the witness, the victim was holding his neck which was bleeding.

"I asked him who had done this to him and he replied that it was 50 Cent - the accused person," Ndow. He added that Abdoullahi then fell down and died.

He added that he dashed out to Sitapha Marra (50 Cent) to find out what was the matter between them. The accused, he said, answered that "he took my milk." At that moment the witness said that he told him to follow him to the house to see the deceased.

The case was then adjourned to 4 November, 2008.

Corporal Sambou represented the IGP.
