Sanchaba School receives UK friends

The Sanchaba Lower Basic School yesterday recieved their philanthrpist friends from the UK who are the main sponsors of the school feeding programme at at school ground. 

Mr and Mrs Brown founded the Friends of Sanchaba School (FOSS), a charitable organisation based in the UK and started to sponsor the school since 1999.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs Isatou Joof-Gagigo, the head mistress of the school said Mr and Mrs Brown, the founders of the organisation based in the United Kingdom have been coming to the school for the past years and have been assisting in the school feeding programme by providing the school with rice that can keep the children comfortable when in school.

According to her, the school is enrolled stance at 1000 students. She on behalf of the school, parent teachers association and the general student body, saluted Mr and Mrs Brown for their continues assistance to the school.

For their part, Mr and Mrs Brown both said that they have achieve what they want and according to them in assisting the school.

This charitable organisation according to them was founded by two of them and they raised funds in the UK only to assist the school especially in the feeding programme.

They assured of their continues support to the school.

Other speakers at the ceremony included Mr Jawneh, Mrs. Ndow and Pieme Choye who all expressed their appreciation to their friends.

Sariba Danso, the school head girl delivered the vote of thanks.

At the ceremony, uniforms and stationeries where also presented to the needy students at the school from Grade 2-6.
