First Choice late night 'shopper' convicted

One Mustapha Sanyang was on Tuesday paraded before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court charged with attempting to commit felony.

According to the particulars of the offense, the Mustapha Sanyang and two others  - Pap Saine and Modou Badjie -  were, on 27th October 2008, found at the Kairaba Avenue around 1:00am attempting to break into First Choice Garden Centre with the intention to steal.

Mustapha Sanyang, whose partners are still at large, pleaded guilty to the charge. The police prosecutor, Corporal 358 E Sarr then applied to close his case. The application was granted by the magistrate. The accused was convicted and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment.
