A three day business training program, organized by IBAS, was recently concluded at their headquarters in Bakau. Conducted from the 27th to the 30th of October, 2008, the training, according to its organizers, aimed at providing business knowledge to potential Gambian entrepreneurs.

The program brought together 22 participants, drawn from IBAS itself and various other institutions. The opening session of the training was graced by the managing director of IBAS, Alasan Giteh, who gave a brief remark on the reason behind the development urging the participants to make good use of the training.

Lucy Thomas, a participant from the Medical Research Council (MRC), delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the participants. She described the training as very important and effective, saying that it would enhance greatly their contribution to national development.

She seized the opportunity to express a deep sense of gratitude to both IBAS, the Department of State for Finance and Economic Affairs and other sponsors of the training, for opportunity. She also emphasized the importance of human resource development.

"The training is all about empowerment. You have given us a very rich and well taught lecture which will lead us to the right direction in the world of competitive business.
 
Money cannot buy the skills we have gained from the training," she said.

She also advised the participants to make good use of the skills gained and share them with their colleagues who were not fortunate enough to attend.
