Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court recently convicted two foreigners, Edrissa Trawally from Mali and Abdou Rahman Jallow from Guinea Conakry, for felony.

The first accused, Edrissa Trawally, appeared in court but his co-accused was said to be at large.

According to the facts, the duo, on the 8th of October 2008, jointly stole 20 cartoons of tiles from West African Bronz Ltd, a company located in Serekunda Sandika Market, and where they both work. The stolen tiles were valued at D4500.

Magistrate Mbake sentenced Edrissa Trawally to six months imprisonment. He is to be deported after serving his jail term. His partner in crime, who choose to flee, was sentenced in absentia to a 1-year jail term and will also be deported after serving his term.
