Mr Taiwo A Salami, the principal and managing director of Capital College UK in London, is currently in The Gambia, trying to make available opportunities for Gambians to study in London through the Capital College.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Observer, Mr Salami said his college is currently enrolling students for the session starting January 2009.

He disclosed that his college offers accounting courses like ACCA, and Marketing. They also offer Business Management and Information Technology courses.

To know more about these courses, he went on, the general public is invited to the Paradise Suites Hotel on Saturday November 8, where lectures and interviews will be held for all interested and qualified candidates, who want to learn at the Capital College in the UK.

"There are a lot of opportunities awaiting the applicants and that is why we are inviting the general public to come to Paradise Suites Hotel on Saturday," Mr Salami explained.

"We are authorised by the authorities in UK to recruit students from anywhere in the world, to bring them to study in the UK," he revealed.

Mr Salami expressed delight at the weather condition in The Gambia, describing the country as an attractive tourist destination.

"In my college, we have courses that are suitable for the tourism industry and they are good for any developing country.

Africans can, upon completion of their first 3 years, obtain professional qualifications. All they need to do is to spend one more year in the university, to enable them to obtain a degree. So it means they can kill two birds with one stone?11," he further revealed.

Mr Salami is expected to stay in The Gambia for two weeks.
