Gambians have chosen right!

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Editor,

The people's choice for H.E Yahya Jammeh was providential.  Their steadfastness, loyalty, confidence and patriotism will not be ignored, for President Jammeh loves his people as much as they love him.

His main concern is nothing but the amelioration of the conditions of their lives.

Proof of this is in his speech on the last 22nd July anniversary celebrations, when he said with all sincerity and honesty - '"I will never, never allow any one to distress my people or make them unhappy."

These are words of passion, touching to any responsible person who cares; words that have never been pronounced by any head of state before.

Consider the number of fully air-conditioned buses brought to combat the hitherto exorbitant public transport fares; consider the rice sold at much lower price than it is in the market; consider the price of meat that has dropped significantly. Before this, the greater part of the people a eat meat only once a year, on Tobaski or Christmas day.

Now everyone can eat meat at least once every week. Therefore a great progress has been made towards changing the lives of the people.

If the Coast should smile with nature's gift, the people will smile with the love and care of their leader.
