Five men, namely Sulayman Ndure, Babucarr Ceesay, Ousman Dibba, Ousman Ndure and Muhammed Ceesay, believed to have been involved in the Right Choice Supermarket theft case were yesterday arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court.

The five were charged with stealing and receiving stolen.

According to the prosecution, Sulayman Ndure, Babucarr Ceesay and Ousman Dibba, on November 18th 2008 at Right Choice Supermarket, jointly stole some items valued at D315,226.

Sulayman Ndure, and Ousman Dibba pleaded guilty to this charge while Babucarr Ceesay pleaded not guilty.

It was further alleged that Ousman Ndure and  Muhammed Ceesay on the same day and place received stolen items valued at D315,226 from Sulayman Ndure and Ousman Dibba. They both pleaded not.

At that point the defence counsel, Sheriff Tambedou , who appeared for the 2nd and 5th accused asked for time to enable him to enter into a plea bargain with the prosecution.

Each of the accused was granted bail in the sum of D70,000 each or a Gambian surety with a property of the said valued. The case continues on November 10, 2008.
