Super Cup final: Feb 22

The Gambia Football Association has set February 22, as the date for the Super Cup final between Real de Banjul and Gambia Ports Authority at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium, GFA first-vice-president, Brigadier-General Lang Tombong Tamaba, has revealed to Observer Sports.

He added that The Gambia U-20 will also play South Africa U-20 in an international football friendly just a day after the February 22 Super Cup final.

The traditional final that will gather the league champions and the FA Cup holders will also serve as a curtain raiser for the new league season which is scheduled to commence on Sunday, February 24.

The FA Cup champions, Gambia Ports Authority, would have however, played their first match in the CAF Confederation Championship before facing Real de Banjul in the February 22 final.

The Ferry Boys will on Saturday, February 16, host in Banjul, the Ivorian giants, FC Bingerville in the first-leg encounter of the continental club competition.
