The Gambia Secondary Schools Sports Association has announced the dates for the commencement of heats ahead of the 2008 Inter-Schools Athletics Championship finals.

The association has earlier conducted a grouping for each of the zones in the the country.

within the Greater Banjul Area have been paired in three groups, where Gambia Senior Secondary School face Nustrat, Kotu, Sheikh Mass Kah, SDA and Rose Kali in Group A.

Mighty Saint Augustine's Senior who will be making a comeback after serving a two-year suspension have been paired in Group B, alongside SoS, Ndow's Comprehensive, Daddy Jobe and St Peter's.

Muslim Senior has been handed a fair draw as they face ICE, Methodist Academy, S.E.P and John Pickering Senior in Group C.

In the Brikama zone, the defending champions, Bottrop Senior, will battle it out with Fatima, Kunta Kinteh, Model and Mayork in Group A, whilst Group B features Maahad, Mingdow, Sifoe, St Francis and Brikama Methodist.

The Western Region schools will commence their heats on Saturday, February 16, at the Bottrop school ground.

The finals for all the categories are scheduled between April 12 and 13, at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.
