The Gambia Taekwondo Association will on Friday, February 15, hold general congress to elect new executive that will steer the affairs of the association for another four years.

Disclosing this to our reporter, Mr Sulayman Jobe, the out-going secretary-general said all legible taekwondo clubs have been duly informed of Friday's congress which will be held at Senfour Brikama Highway along the Kombo Sillah Drive.

Jobe, a black belt holder in the trade, the association has, over the years, done so much in the promotion and development of Taekwondo in the country.

"We have succeeded in introducing women to taekwondo. We have also helped introduced the game in some schools, and today, we can proudly say that schools like West African International School and Marina International all have their established taekwondo clubs," reveal Jobe, who further boost of the association's achievement at the All Africa Games where they clinched silver medal.
