UK philanthropists visit Salikene school, health centre

Roger and Cheryl Ling, accompanied, by friends, Kelly and Susan, recently concluded a visit to Salikene Basic Cycle School and Health Centre in the North Bank Region.

The philanthropists donated D33,000 and educational materials to Salikene Basic Cycle School with some educational materials. They also donated D10,000 , a wheelbarrow, spades, rakes and hand gloves to Salikene Health Centre.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the village, Alhagie Sainey Kanteh, Chief of the village, who welcoming the philanthropists, thanked them for their support to the welfare of his people.

For his part, Abdoulie Touray, coordinator of the group, advised the people to use the donated items wisely

Mr Roger Ling, thanked the villagers for their warm welcome and promised to build a lab for the upper basic school of the village in due course and completion of the staff quarters .

Other speakers include, Momodou Bintou Dibba, Basaikou Kanteh, Basarjonding Colley, Yahya Marena Samateh and Sainabou Kumba Touray, who all expressed gratitude to the philanthropists.
