Bravo Daily Observer

Editor,

I am a Gambian with strong liking for the media. I am a fervent reader of the major Gambian  newspapers online. But I have come to notice quite a stricken difference among all these papers. So I feel obliged to express how fascinating I am about the steadfastness of the Daily Observer.

First it was the issue of the Market women, then employees of Kharafi, then Modou Sanneh, and now little Jainaba. How on earth could these talent award people have failed to give you a media of the year award?

Anyway, you are really on course! Keep it up!

Apart from its Pan-Africanist stunts, which the Gambian media has been conspicuously wanting for for quite a while now, the Daily Observer has constantly remained focused against all efforts to derail its course. Your policy of pursuing a positive reporting is in line with the idea of re-branding Africa as the peace-loving place it really is.

All these persistent talks of wars, sufferings, hunger, and all what not, are in fact made worse than they  might be, if they actually do exist. And all this is thanks to the propaganda machinery of the powerful western media. No matter how erroneous the policy of western country might be, its media always stands by it. That is the love of nationalism. The interest of the nation as a whole stands out foremost. This is what I would want the publishers of the other media houses in the Gambia to know.

By all accounts, the current look of the Daily Observer, in terms of publication of literary works, facts, and virtually all it takes to make a tangible media outlet, the paper is set to take the line of the likes of renown papers like The Nation, This Day, soon and so forth. I only hope that the people behind the good job being done at the country's most prestigious paper are aware of the potential they are nursing!

In conclusion, I want to take this opportunity to thank the management and staff of the entire company at the Daily Observer for continued fight for justice and peace. Bravo DO.
