The Gamtel/Gamcel Staff Association has recieved a 4x4 brand new cherry vehicle from the Gamcel management in support of their annual fund-raising show with the Senegalese Mbalax star, Youssou Ndure which is meant for women empowerment and Operation Save a Baby.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Almamy Gassama, director of Customer Services at Gamcel said the boost is meant to assist the Gamtel/Gamcel Staff Association in their annual fund-raising show.

He added that the national GSM operator Gamcel are always associated with any effort geared towards national development.

"We are fully committed to investing in policies and programs that save babies - the future generation, women empowerment and gender equality. This is why we have, from the inception, intervened in all areas of national development" he said.

For his part, Jim Gaye, manager of Quantum-net's Espace Motors - the company from where the vehicle was purchased, highlighted the long-standing relations between Quantum-net and Gamcel.

Handing over the vehicle, Rein Zwolsman, Gamtel/Gamcel CEO described it as yet another boost for national development since the initiative is for the benefit of all.

Other speakers at the occasion included Ndey Sainabou Jobe of Gamcel who called on Gambians to come out in their large numbers and patronise the association.
