In its efforts to face-lift Western Region, Brikama Area Council (BAC) in collaboration with  Gamworks recently held a meeting at the BAC Hall  to discuss strategies to implement projects in places under the council. The discussion was on the construction of the Wellingara market, some roads and community centres among others.

According to Sereign Modou Joof, principal administrative officer who also doubles as the Public Relations Officer of Brikama Area Council ,said some of these projects will be funded by the BAC and the government.

He reiterated that the councils funding of these projects are in line with it's 2008 budget. He noted that it is the council's also aim to equip it's cleansing services department by buying cleansing materials and vehicles.

Joof then asserted that the provision of portable drinking water is also high on the Council's agenda. " All these are geared to boost the living standards of our tax payers" he remarked.

Joof then reiterated Brikama Area Council's commitment to transform Western Region, assuring that many projects undertaken by the council will be inaugurated by President Jammeh during the forthcoming July 22nd celebration.
