The University of The Gambia (UTG) in collaboration with Leeds Metropolitan University in UK, recently concluded a four day lecture on community Module for twenty-five Gambians and three Sierra Leonean students undergoing University masters programme in health promotion and environmental sanitation in Bansang, funded by the British Government.

In his opening remarks, Alhaji Ganyie Touray, Governor of CRR said the occasion marked another mile stone in the strive for building the capacities of the university students.

Governor Touray commended President Jammeh, University of The Gambia and Leeds Metropolitan University for conducting the community module lecture in his region.

Assan Njie, head of the Faculty of Public and Environmental health, spoke at length on the importance of the programme, noting that public and Environmental workers play a vital role in our society.

He pointed out that one can only execute his or her duties correctly if he or she is well equiped in that area. The ceremony was chaired by Karamba Keita, health officer in CRR and that the team from Leeds Metropolitan University, was led by Mr Recheal.
