Tijan pens new Brann deal

Friday, March 07, 2008
Gambian talented midfielder, Tijan Jaiteh, has signed a new five-year deal with his Norwegian Champions Brann FC, Observer Sports can reveal.  The 19 year-old's new deal will keep him at the Scandinavian club until 2012.

Jaiteh joined Brann just over one year ago. He played 16 matches last season and proved to be a big talent.

"Tijan Jaiteh is a young and enthusiastic player who showed last year what great potential he has and we believe he will take further steps in the future," Brann's Director of Sports, Roald Bruun-Hanssen told the club website shortly after the signing of the deal.

The mid-fielder, who was voted the most outstanding youngster in the Brann team last season, expressed delight at bagging the new deal.

"I'm very happy," he said. It's a dream come true for me with this new contract. I'm very happy to be at this club and in this city. As a player, Brann is the right club for me now and the right club to achieve my dreams," Jaiteh continued.

The former Gambia Ports Authority prodigy was recently joined at Brann by his fellow country man Njogu Demba. The Swede-Gambian striker has since earned his debut with the club during their UEFA Cup defeat by English Premiership side, Everton.
