Organization in the spotlightFriday, April 18, 2008 Young Journalist's Association of The Gambia (YJAG) The young Journalists Association of The Gambia(YJAG), a legally registered association with the Attorney General's Chamber in Banjul, was formed on the 16th day of September, 2007 and launched on the 8th February 2008. Amongst its aims and objectives are; to foster unity and understanding among all the young Journalists of the Gambia, address issues of common concerns among Young Journalist, as well as to facilitate the recruitment of Young people into the Journalism field. Since its inception,(YJAG) executive members have been meeting stakeholders, media chiefs, and Foreign Diplomats. Presently, YJAG executive is nursing plans to embark on a tour of schools, country wide. And in its action plan for the year 2008, the association looks for strategies to come up with a quarterly magazine, hold capacity building workshops among others.
