A two days capacity building training for Multi Disciplinary Facilitation Teams (MDFT) organised by the Western Region Community Development Project, funded by the World Bank, Japanese Government and the Government of The Gambia recently ended in Brikama.

At least fifty MDT's from seven wards in the region were trained.

Speaking at the closing ceremony last Thursday at the Gambia Red Cross Branch hall in Brikama, Lamin Jarjusey, the project co-ordinator of the CDDP project stated that, the project is designed to build the capacities of the local communities to identify their plans for implementation by the CDDP project.

According to Jarjusey, the project is the first of its kind with approaches to community focus as its main principle priority. He noted that funds would be directed to the identified villages for the period of three years.

Balla Musa Kijera, the projects capacity building manager noted that this is the beginning of building the capacity of the MDT's to adequately deliver during the implementation process of the project.
