The on-going alleged theft case, involving Tijan Sanno, Musa Kuyateh, Kanmadi Njie and Fanding Barrow, former employees of Uncle Sam Security Service, formally posted at Kharafi Farm in Kafuta,  resumed last Wednesday at the Brikama Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Ayoub John-Njie.

During the Wedbnesday sitting, First Class Constable Mamadou B Jallow, a police officer attached to Mandinaba police post,  began his testimony.

In his testimony, First Class Constable Jallow informed the Court that, in September 2007, while he was on duty at Mandinaba police post, one Andrew John, a senior employee at Uncle Sam Security Service came to lodge a complaint in which he reported a theft case at Kharafi's garden in Kafuta.

First Class Constable Jallow added that he then told Mr John to write his complaint statement, which he (John) did.

According to Jallow, Mr John alleged that an air conditioner was stolen from the garden and that the four accused persons were the suspects. He told the court that the four accused persons were later invited to the Mandinaba police station, where statements were obtained from them.

When the said statements were shown to Mr Jallow by police prosecutor 134 Sambou, he (Jallow) identified them. The statements were then tendered and marked as exhibits.

However, the four accused persons then raised concern for the fact there were six security officers of Uncle Sam Security at the guard post and only four of them were accused of the said offense.  They put it to First Class Constable Jallow that the first day they were invited to the Mandinaba Police post, they were six in number but Jallow maintained that, they were four and that is what Mr John reported to him.
