Thursday, April 03, 2008
Guaranty Trust Bank, Gambia Ltd, on Friday evening, organised a smart kids savers (SKS) party for its young account holders, between 0-18 years at the Dream Park playing ground in Kololi.

The party brought together almost all children banking with guaranty trust within the Greater Banjul Area, and it was characterised by Musical entertainment and children playing games, among other.

In an interview with the Daily Observer, Bolaji Ayodele, General Manager of Guaranty Trust Bank, described the party as an opportunity to thank parents and children banking with them.

He further described the SKS account as an account with a difference, adding that an interest is paid on minimum balance per day.

For his part, Tijan Conteh, relationship manager in the public sector banking at GTB, said that if a child is introduced to savings account at an early age, it helps him/her to grow up to adopt the savings culture.

Mama Fatima Singhateh, head of legal and corporate affairs at GT Bank, described the Bank as the third biggest bank, which will put aside some account from their profit to be ploughed back into the society. She cited GT Bank's recent adoption of a house at SOS children's village in Bakoteh as a clear manifestation of their bank's commitment to supporting the society.

Muhammed Fishi, proprietor of dream park, expressed delight at hosting GT Bank's smart kids savings account holders.

Rohey Jarjue, mother of GT Bank's adopted house in SOS children's village in Bakoteh, also commended GT Bank for their efforts in improving the living conditions of children.
