2 charged with theft

In a separate but similar criminal offences, two youngsters, were yesterday arraigned before Principal Magistrate Bye Camara of Banjul Magistrates Court for stealing mobile phone contrary to section 252 of the criminal code laws of The Gambia.

Mustapha Samba, a Senegalese resident of Banjul, was charged with stealing a Samsung mobile phone worth D10,000 property of one Omar Sillah.

According to the particulars of his offence, Mustapha Samba, some time in the month of February 2008 in the city of Banjul,  stole a Samsung mobile phone worth D10,000 being the property of Omar Sillah. when the sharge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty. He was granted a court bail in the sum of D12,000 with a Gambian surity who must deposit a Gambian national ID card with the court.

For Mustapha Saine, he was in December 2007 in the city of Banjul, also stole a Samsung mobile phone worth D9,000 being the property of one Harry Sarr.

He also pleaded not guilty to the charged preferred against him. He was also granted court bail in the sum of D10,000..Both cases were adjourned to the 8th April 2008 for hearing.
