The sixth edition of the National inter-departmental football championship is scheduled to kick-off on Saturday, April 19, Observer Sports can reveal. The grand opening game to be played at the Independence Stadium will feature the champions, Gambia Civil Aviation Authority and the runners up, Nawec.

The secretary-general of the departmental sports association, Saikou Jarju, has called on interested companies who are yet to register to come forward and do so with the fee pegged at D6,000 (six thousand dalasis). He said the deadline for registration is Monday, April 7, after which no company will be allowed to take part.

Just like last season, this year's championships will feature both male and female competitions.
