Editor,

It is with utmost delight that I learnt about the visit of my honorable president, Dr Earnest Bai Koroma, President of the Republic of the Sierra Leone, to the Gambia.

This visit is especially important for a number of reasons, most important of which is that it will give me and many other Sierra Leoneans the life time opportunity to see a leader we adore from the bottom of our heart. It will also mean that President Koroma will see for himself the style of leadership of President Jammeh, which is what Sierra Leoneans need most today; a leader whose charisma can unite his people, a leader who love his people, and a leader who thinks the best for his people.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Gambians through their president, for according us this chance. I want to assure you of our sense of loyalty to a country we see as our second home.  In fact, for many of us this is the home of our children who do not know anywhere other than the Gambia. Again, we are thankful that you have made it possible for us to have a place to lay our heads while our country was on fire.

As we await the arrival of our dear President, Earnest Bai Koroma, I look forward to a massive turnout by not only Sierra Leoneans, but Gambians as well. Let us make the two leaders proud of our unity. Gambians and Sierra Leoneans are one people by all indications- historically, ethnically, religiously, etc.
