Nyerere Big Read great!

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Editor,

Let me begin by saying your newspaper is really educative entertaining and enlightening. It has also grown to become one of the most reliable online newspaper in the country.

I am currently abroad studying but the Daily Observer is my first source of news. You post your news in a timely manner while other papers will be accessible towards the end of the day or others some days after, probably to urge people to buy first. But updating online contents late is denying some of us away current news and feeding us with stale news.

I think other papers online in the Gambia will emulate your timely postings. I must also admit that the content of your paper is very diverse and I like the Big Read in particular. Your paper could serve as a library for readers interested in news, current affairs, music, politics and world events. Your piece Big Read on Nyerere is a great one. Keep up the good work.

Siaka Bah

Editor's Note:

Thanks Mr. Bah, we are humbled to be of value to so many compatriots abroad. We are aware of the thirst for information from home and we are happy to do the best we can. We do have our political leanings, as most papers do, but we still try to make the paper as educative and interesting as possible. As for the timely up-loading, the best appointments we made here six months ago was to poach Veronica Mendy, our Web-Mistress, from another company. The website is all her domain. Bless her.
