Caring for Life Group, an NGO and a charitable organisation, has embarked on a life changing initiative, taking the practice of First Aid to the remotest villages in The Gambia.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Observer, Musa Colley, the president of the organisation, stated that the group which seeks to alleviate human suffering through capacity building, was initiated in 2004.

The organization, according to Mr Colley, engages in  administering  First Aid, especially in the provincial areas. He disclosed that they also train volunteers in First Aid administration from the village to the family level.

"Our mandate", he said, "is to work at the village level, starting with the remotest ones; to train people in village development commitees in First Aid and emergency handling." This, Mr Colley went on, is important in that emergencies occur anywhere and anytime and, he said, without First Aid knowledge, nothing could be done.

Mr Colley then highlighted that currently his organisation has about 8000 registered volunteers, all of whom he said, were trained volunteers in First Aid who supervise trainings nationwide.
