Abdou Salaam Jammeh, education officer at The Gambia Football Association, left Banjul yesterday for Tunisia to attend a two-day workshop, which will gather education officers from other affiliated national associations .

Organised by the Confederation of African Football as part of its effort in developing football administration in the continent, the workshop is scheduled between May 8 to May 10, 2008, in the North African country.

A part of CAF's Contract with Africa project, the objective of the workshop is to review accomplished programs and system of work in their federations.  It will also address difficulties faced by the education officers and ways of improving their administrative duties.

The education officer is a selected person by national associations but approved and financed by the continental football governing body.  They are active working staff in the national association and responsible for its educational programs. They also coordinate with various committees in the association such as refereeing, administration, coaching and sports medicine.

The workshop, which was first organised last year in Egypt, will be staged yearly by CAF to keep abreast of events happening administratively around the continent for football development.
