Division One league resumes today

africa » gambia » serrekunda west
Friday, June 13, 2008
GFA Division One league will enter its Week Eighteenth stage, today, when Steve Biko take on Gamtel in their mid-table clash at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

The Bakau side, which currently lie at sixth position with 21 points, will be looking for their first win in five games, against a side that currently trail them by only one point.

In another Week Eighteen fixture, today, struggling Interior will square up against Sait Matty-Africell at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium. The Division One returnees, Interior, face an up-hill task to avoid relegation, having fetched only one win in seventeen fixtures - a deteriorating run-of-form that sees them remain at the red zone since the start of the season.

On Sunday, Sea View will take on league contenders, Samger, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium, while Ports Authority face Hawks at the West Mini-stadium, on the same day.

The current league leaders, Wallidan, will be hoping to extend their lead when they take on arch rivals, Real de Banjul, in the last set of Week Eighteen fixtures on Monday at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

On the same day, Armed Forces will take on Bakau United at the East Mini-stadium.
