Bravo GFA

Africa » Gambia
Monday, June 16, 2008

Editor,

We cannot help but thank the efforts of the GFA for the excellent security measures they have been putting in place since the start of the world cup qualifying games played in The Gambia.

Organising football matches nowadays without encountering security problems is a difficult virtually impossible indeed.

Recently we have witnessed the tragic loss of life of 10 Liberian fans who died due to suffocation caused by the overcrowding of the Sameal Doe Stadium in Monrovia. This was all due to improper security measures that were put in place for such an important match.

After hosting two matches without a single security flaw, we can only say bravo and thank you to the GFA for always providing the best security available during matches. Keep it up!
