Bravo Gambia government

Africa » Gambia
Thursday, June 19, 2008
Editor,

Please will you allow me space in your widely read newspaper to commend the government of The Gambia on their drive towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

The targets setup by the United Nations that dictate the way forward for national and regional undertakings by governments around the world to improve the living condition for their citizenry could not have come at a better time than this. Although the time frame has been setup to achieve these goals, which is by 2015, I must say there is still much to be done by government around the globe.

But we must thank the government of the day for making this goals a priority on its agenda. Our commitment to PRSP (1) and (2) is an indication that the government is committed to national development and will no doubt enhance the attainment of vision 2020.

Before I drop my pen down, I want to thank the government for the bold steps been taken for the past years. Let's keep up the good job. May God guide us!
