Sally and Malcolm Readers, officials of Friends Of Gambian Schools (FROGS), a UK charity in The Gambia, recently concluded a three day working visit to Barrow kunda Lower Basic School, in the Wuli West District, Upper River Region.

The purpose of their visit, is to visit the new fencing project of Barrowkunda Lower Basic School, and to meet the officials of Beakanyang Kafo, Barrowkunda LBS and the villagers, for discussions about the any possible intervention or support for the ongoing project.

Speaking at a meeting with the villagers, Nfamara Jawneh, Secretary General and  Project Coordinator of Beakanyang Kafo, described FROGS as true and genuine friends of Gambian school.

He thanked the community for their support to the school fencing project. Jawneh further described the parents' commitment towards the project as a sign of patriotism, love and care towards their children's education.

Mr Jawneh reiterated his organisation's commitment in completing government's efforts in the area of education.

Speaking earlier, Tumani Danjo, president of Beakanyang, said his organisation will continue to lead the development process in the village.

Mr Malcolm Reader, an official of FROGS, said his organisation has been supplying learning materials to over 250 schools and skills centres throughout the country. He assured the people of Barrowkunda of his organisation's support at all times.

Other sakers include; Yaya Sumareh, Board Chairman of Beakanyang, Lancho Barrow, PTA chairman and Sarjo Bah, a teacher at the school.
