One Bammy Manga and Nedvin Roberts were, yesterday, arraigned before Principal Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Kanifing Magistrate Court charged with obstructing police officers in due execution of their duties contrary to the laws of The Gambia.

According to count one, Bammy Manga on July 4th 2008, along the Kairaba  Avenue, assaulted two police officers namely 1st Class Constable 508 Nyassi and 2123 SaidyKhan, in due execution of their duties.

Count two revealed that, Nedvin Roberts, the second accused, on the same day along Kairaba Avenue, assaulted 1st Class Constable 508 Nyassi in due execution of his duties by pushing him.

Both accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.

Shortly after taking their plea, Police Prosecutor Fadera applied for a short adjournment to enable him to call his witnesses and was granted leave by Magistrate Jawo.

The case was then adjourned to August 11th, 2008. The duo was then granted court bail in the sum of D25,000 each with Gambian sureties.
