The Gambia Scout Union liaison officer One Bubacarr Khan was yesterday arraigned before principal magistrate Buba Jawo of Kanifing magistrate's court, charged for obtaining money by false pretence contrary to section 288 of the criminal court  laws of The Gambia .

According to the particulars of the offense, Bubacarr Khan and  34 others in the Kanifing Municipality being employed as the Liaison Officer of The Gambia Scout Union, unlawfully received money amounting to D2,000000 from one Bakary Singateh with the pretex that they are to attend a scout jamboree.

When the charge was read to him, Mr Khan pleaded not guilty .

He was then granted bail in the sum of D500,000 . Presiding Magistrate Buba Jawo then adjourned the case to August 20, 2008.
