The first-round matches of the preliminary rounds of the 2008 Gamtel sponsored FA Cup championship ended over the weekend with thrilling scores.

Brikama Ba beat Jarra West 6-1, while Waterman downed Jambanjelly 1-0 in Basse. Flamenins emerged 1-0 winners against Star Light at the Independence Stadium, while Young Africans beat Kerewan's Adwac 5-4 in a post-match spot-kick after a 1-1 full-time score.

The second round matches will commence on Wednesday, August 13, with Flamenins taking on Nema United while Tallinding United will face champions Ports Authority.

Brikama Ba will take on SK East United, while Waterman battle it out with Kaira Silo. Brikama United are paired with Young Africans, while Interior will take on Ham Ham.
The winners in the second round matches will join the eight awaiting teams in the top flight for the third round matches.
