Man charged for attempted felony

One George Smith was, on Wednesday, 6 August, paraded before Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung Magistrates' Court for an attempt to commit felony contrary to Section 365 of the Criminal Code, Laws of the Gambia.

According to the fact before the court, George Smith, on 2 June, 2008, at Kololi in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of the Gambia, attempted to obtain money from one Almamy Jaganna with the intention of selling fake animal vaccine to him.

When the senior magistrate read the charge sheet to him, he pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

In her ruling, Senior Magistrate Sillah-Camara adjourned the case to 20 August 2008 for the prosecutor to open his case.
Police Prosecutor Corporal 438 Njie represented the IGP.
