Senegal football pundits feel Gambia Scorpions will present the biggest threat to the Terenga Lions' hope of progressing to the next stage of the 2010 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Terenga Lions will close their first round of the joint qualifiers against the Scorpions on October 11, in Dakar, with all eyes on the decisive fixture, which will decide the winner of Group 6 automatic ticket.

Senegal earlier suffered a 3-2 defeat against Algeria and pundits believe that Blida setback for Senegal will  give the Scorpions, who stamped their supremacy over Liberia with a 3-0 win in Banjul, more confidence ahead of Dakar tie.

"The Senegalese team showed a sign of weakness in Blida. Senegal lost to Algerian 2-3, while The Gambia punished Liberia 3-0 and this shows that the Scorpions could be of great threat," Badara Sarr head coach of Senegalese first division league champions, Customs FC, told Wal Fadjri Sports.

"The Scorpions weigh heavier than a pile of mental force.  They have some equally good legs and a young crop of players who have been together for a long time"

"They know each other well - having played together at the youth level in the past years."
"Senegal will have to prepare because The Gambia will come (to Dakar) to play without complex," Sarr warned.
